This new pattern, inspired by Fair Isle knits, features an intricate pattern of small hearts which represents the knit stitches, and creates the typical geometric shapes found in this technique. The unique use of different weave structures enhances the colours and suggests a textured aesthetic reminiscent of the knit. The overall look captures the charm of traditional Fair Isle craft.
Woven on the incredibly popular Mithril warp with blues fading to teal, a weft of silvery grey ecowool yarn picks out the pattern. Recycled wool is strong and supportive, with temperature regulating properties to keep you warm on cold days, and cool in warm weather. This eco-friendly fabric has a good balance of grip and glide and a nice cush for the shoulders making it perfect for carrying bigger babies and toddlers.
Ecowool is a recycled wool yarn made from post-consumer waste. This sustainable yarn represents 98% less environmental impact when compared to regular wool. It’s composed of reusable waste fibres from the spinning mill that would otherwise go to landfill – mainly cotton but also modal, lyocell, wool, cashmere, linen, silk and other yarns.
Egyptian Organic Cotton is a soft, 3-ply, long-staple cotton. Grown and processed by the Nile, it ensures high-quality fibers. The supplier collaborated with local growers for years, helping them convert soil to meet Organic Soil Association standards. The yarn is processed in Egypt, supporting local jobs and livelihoods.
